The Story So Far

Dayapuram Arts and Science College for Women derived from the earlier Dayapuram Vanitha College ( a parallel college established in 1988) with the idea of educating the poor and backward girls in Chathamangalam Panchayath. Headed by Mr. Chandrasekharan Nair, the college was instrumental in streamlining a lot of students who had done badly in their matriculation, to the point that the best result in the entire Calicut University (100% in Pre Dregree as well as Degree) was secured by this college. In 2002, Al Islam Charitable Trust got affiliation for the college and it was strated as Dayapuram Women’s College with 12 students. In 2005, the then Director N. P. Ashley initiated the change in the name of college to Dayapuram Arts and Science College for Women. Currently in its 15 th year, the college is now going through a total repositioning and rebranding, with the efforts of academic volunteers from all over India.
