Department of Computer Science

The Department of Computer Science was established with the objective of imparting quality education in the field of Computer Science.

The curriculum is focused on a revised, career based system. A group of highly motivated students guided by faculty is considered as the strength of the Department. The curriculum provides students with a broad and deep foundation in theory and modern software and hardware concepts as well as introduces students to various programming languages and paradigms. Students have an opportunity to engage in significant programming and software development work, learning to innovate as well as invent new technologies. In addition, the Department offers a multitude of career-oriented short-term  skill enhancement courses in programming and related areas, in parallel to the normal academic activities in order to augment the career-orientation for the students, Department also offer students with opportunities to do their internship and course projects by maintaining collaboration with technology and software firms in and around the district.

The Department also organizes a host of curricular and co-curricular activities in collaboration with other institutions of higher learning. There is special care and attention given to students for their academic and personal development through continuous mentoring and supportive system of the department. The Department conducts a host of curricular, co-curricular and extra-curricular activities to keep the students abreast of the recent happenings in the field and also to make them aware of the unexplored potentials of the IT and IT Enabled Service Sector. The Department maintains a healthy Student-Parent-Teacher ecosystem, with frequent meetings, feedbacks and other inputs for the betterment of the students. The Department has modern facilities for teaching and learning. The Computer Laboratory has modern state-of-the-art facilities. Most of the classrooms of the Department are digitally enabled. True its vision, the Department continuously strive for moulding Computer Science graduates to become scientifically oriented, intellectually accomplished, morally upright and socially committed youth who can play a constructive role in nation building
