Anti-Sexual Harassment Cell / Internal Complaints Committee

Dayapuram Arts & Science College for Women has an Internal Complaints Committee which aims at providing a safe environment for students and staff in the college. It is formed according to the provisions of the POSH ACT-Sexual Harassment of Women at Workplace Act of 2013,.(Prevention, Prohibition & Redressal).Which is also mentioned in University Grants Commission (Prevention, Prohibition and Redressal of sexual harassment of women employees and students in higher educational institutions) Regulations. The committee comprising of a Presiding Officer not below the rank of Assistant Professor, representatives from faculty members & non teaching staffs and an external etc.

Objectives:

• To prevent any form of sexual harassment in the campus.

• To conduct periodical programmes on women empowerment, gender rights.

• To create awareness regarding legal and ethical questions around sexual harassment.

• To take strict disciplinary action against the violators depending on the nature of violence.

•  To provide conducive environment and congenial atmosphere in the Campus.

 Activities: 

• ICC organizes students’ workshops, training programmes which ensure gender equality and safety of Women.

• Conducts various awareness programmes for students, teachers and non teaching staff for gender sensitization on the Campus.

• As part of Women’s Day ICC Organizes interactive sessions for where the students can share any experiences, concerns related to gender issues.

• In association with Women’s Club ICC organizes various programmes to create awareness among students related to sexual harassment.
